Finding your purpose and motivation in lifeAs I was sitting on a plane and seeing other people around me watching various movies, playing games, reading, I was tempted to do exactly the same, especially since I have many movies that I cannot get to in my Netflix list. But, instead of falling for such temptation, and spending 2-3 hours watching shows, I remembered that by doing so I will not learn something new, and definitely would not continue to invest in my personal and professional growth, and growth of readers and listeners such as yourself through my writing. What else helps me to stay focused and keep moving forward towards my goals in life without taking any breaks to rest, even while sitting on a plane in extremely uncomfortable middle seat, with AC barely breathing, is my family and the life that I want to give them, the financial free and comfortable lifestyle, the lifestyle that they deserve. Finding your motivation? Most of us have something or someone who help us to stay focused on our goals and dreams. So, anytime I think about relaxing and just do nothing, seeing my wife and kids helps to set my priorities straight in my head, and instead of wasting time on activities that do not contribute to getting me closer to my goal(s), I dig in, re-focus, and continue to keep working, keep writing, and learning something new every day. In case you are wondering, yes, I am also workaholic, which some may view as weakness, however, I see it as a strength, strength that does not permit mediocracy and procrastination. What is your motivation in life? What keeps driving you forward towards your goals? Next time, you think about spending your time on unimportant, non-beneficial activities, think about motivation of yours and all of the reasons why it is important to you. Ask yourself what you are doing every day to get you closer to fulfill your goals and dreams, whether they are yours or those that you care about. If what you are doing is not getting you to where you want to be, think about what you can do to change that, and I am not saying to quit your job, but activities that you do daily that either bring you closer to where you want to be, or taking you further away. We often must sacrifice free time now, while investing our time in building our future.
