Challenging the status quo to reach our lifetime dreams and goals

Picture
Setting non-existent limits in our mind

So many people quit on their life-time dreams simply because in their mind they’ve convinced themselves that reaching their dream is impossible or would require such a great deal of time, energy, resources, and effort, that pursuing it would be unrealistic in their current situation, or from where they are today. Newsflash, our minds are designed to protect us at all times, therefore, as soon as we think about taking a risk or trying something new, which has even a small chance of risk, our minds protective function kicks in and convinces us that it would be difficult, challenging, unreachable, or impossible. We, of course, believe and listen to what our mind is telling us. Why? Because, it’s easier this way. We don’t have to try, don’t have to risk, or put in any effort. Basically, we can stay where we are, even if it is far from where we want to be, but hey, it’s easy and does not require us changing anything that we do today. We can continue to sit on our couch and dream about our dream life, about new car, new house, or a house, new or better job, more money, higher position, well, I think you get the point that I am trying to make here.

Creating false sense of possibilities to stand still

One thing that we fail to realize, is that it doesn’t always have be to be extremely challenging, unreachable, unattainable, require a lot of resources or money that we do may not have at this time. We create false realities in our mind to create a reason not to try to go after our goals in life. Even though we really want to, we tell ourselves that because we do not have x, y, and z, we cannot or should not change anything or even try. The reality is, we can absolutely start something that we are passionate about, follow our goals, and dreams, pursue lifestyle that we really want, without having a lot of money, time, resources, or experience. The key is to start today with what we have, and do what we can.

Required ingredient to fund success in life

You don’t have to have a million of followers today to be a successful blogger. You do not have to live in a multi-million mansion to enjoy the lifestyle that you want, at least not right this minute. You don’t have to invest thousands of dollars into your online business to begin creating a successful business with loyal customers. What you do have to have is willingness to simply try. You do have to have is a strong desire to learn, and I mean learn from your failures and mistakes, because, they will take place. You have to understand that success, may and typically will not happen immediately, it takes time, effort, and quality content and/or product that you an deliver to your audience and your customers. If what you are presenting to your audience is kind of good, well, you should not expect for your business to take off right away after launching. However, it does not mean that you cannot get better, you can, all you have to do is be patient and continue to work on improving your skills and content/product. Don’t have a lot of available time to start your online business? Well, guess what, you can start your online business while working full time, you can also spend hours working on your business on the weekends, or days off. Any reason you create for not pursuing your goal or dream today is just another excuse for not being willing to try and put in the work.

Small wins matter

The other very important component of starting and sticking to a specific goal, is to celebrate small victories along your exciting and often challenging journey. Don’t wait to treat yourself only when you reach your lifetime goal or dream, as that may take months or years. Instead, celebrate small victories with small rewards along the way. You’ve got to make it fun and rewarding for yourself. That is what will help you to keep going, keep it interesting, and give you a reason to try harder, until you reach that one thing that you are going after. Don’t stop when it gets difficult, keep going, keep trying, but more importantly, start today, start now!
