Winning against all odds
Do you believe that you are capable of accomplishing something great, even though you have never done anything like it before? Do you think you can climb mountain Everest, running and successfully completing a marathon, become a New York Times bestselling author? I hope that your answer is, of course I can, because you are capable of achieving anything that you set your mind to
If you are telling yourself in your mind that something is impossible to achieve, you are right, it is impossible to achieve something you don’t believe in. In your mind you’ve already determined the final outcome. If you think that something is impossible or too difficult, you are correct, and unless you change your outlook on a particular situation or task, it will remain unattainable in your book.

You, and only you control the final outcome
No one is capable of setting limits to your growth or control the outcome of a particular situation that you may be dealing with, only you can. So, if you are thinking about writing a book and want for it to make that New York Times bestselling list, it may look as something way out of your reach, especially if you had never written anything before, but who says that it is not possible. Anything is possible. If you have extreme desire to succeed, passionate about the topic, and are willing to work really hard, then even the most challenging goals can be accomplished.

Keep going until you reach the finish line
A lot of times we set out to do something that we feel passionate about and want to accomplish, put in hours or days of hard work, energy and out time, and everything seems to be going great. But, then as time goes by and passion wears off, we begin dedicate less time and energy to keep driving towards our goal, and then eventually we simply stop. Why is that? Why do we give up on our goals so easily? Of course, the reason may vary from person to person, but in most situations it means that task or goal you were working towards before was not critical enough to you, and therefore, was easily forgotten. You may say, well, there were reasons x, y, z that contributed to you abandoning a particular goal, but the reason underlying reason is that you may no longer be interested in what you were working on or, perhaps, you found it to be much more difficult and time consuming than you thought initially.

In this instance you had chosen to stop before the finish line was reached. The crazy thing is, we often do not know how close we may be in actually reaching a particular goal of ours. It may be so close that one additional step, one additional attempt, one more failure may lead us to success. But, because we choose to stop half way, we would never find out how close we really were. So, what I am trying to say here is that if you truly want and need to accomplish something, then do not stop and give up on that goal when you may be one step away from the finish line

Give your 100%
Successful goal accomplishment requires 100% of your effort and energy. You may say, well, I always give my 100% in everything I do, but what I find that this is often too far from the truth. We say that we did everything we could, but if that is the case then why wasn’t a goal accomplished? It wasn’t accomplished, because, we perhaps were willing to give it all, give it our 100%, but wanting and actually doing are two different things. Many people want to be successful, want wealth and fame, but only few are actually accomplishing these goals. Why? Because, one group wanted to get there, and another group actually made a firm decision to reach their goals, and give their 100% no matter what. Remember, only you can set limits to your growth, success, and future.

Takeaways
  • Do not set limits to your growth and future. Give your 100% when the decision is made to reach a particular goal
  • Do not give up on your goal no matter what. If you said that you will accomplish something, then accomplish it, don’t create the empty noise
  • Do not stop half-way on your journey. You may be much closer to the finish line than you may think, so keep going until the finish line have been crossed
  • Don’t commit to a challenge or goal if you had already made a decision in your mind that it is impossible to reach. If you have made such decision, you have already lost. Only commit if you’ve made a decision to win, regardless how challenging it may seem
  • Don’t be disappointed if it takes you longer to reach your goal than you anticipated. Be persistent, keep going, and eventually you will be rewarded for your determination and hard work. Believe in yourself.
