Module 20 - Attributes of a Successful Leader - Initiative

In this module I am discussing Initiative as an important attribute of a successful leader and introducing my Initiative Implementation Process

Why is initiative an important attribute of a successful leader?

Person without an initiative will always remain in the same position in life and their professional career, without any movement forward. Initiative is a necessary attribute in order to progress towards your goals both personal and professional. As leaders we should be always looking for ways to help others and to help moving the company that we work for or the business that we own forward, expand and grow in size as well as financially. One attribute that helps us to do so is initiative, and displaying this skill at the right time can help us as well as everyone involved to take the next critical step towards successful future.

Without showing initiative we are saying that we are satisfied with a status quo and are happy how this are not wanting to make any attempts to make any changes. By displaying initiative we are showing others that we want to improve, sharing our thoughts and ideas on how something can be improved, and taking action to implement suggestions and ideas into practice. Sure not all ideas will be successful, but at least by trying them we can learn why certain ideas cannot be implemented as suggested, make appropriate adjustments to the implementation plan and try again. It's all about showing initiative and trying vs. staying still.  Leader with an initiative is a leader with a vision, who knows what he or she wants in life and works smart on taking incremental steps to get closer to their goal and lifetime dream. Show initiative, share your thoughts and ideas, and keep moving forward.

My Initiative Implementation Process: Trying, Analyzing, Revising, Taking Action.
Trying: This is the first step in your idea implementation to see if a particular thought, idea or suggestion can be implemented as designed
Analyzing: Reviewing results of initial idea implementation. Asking yourself the following questions: Was it successful? Were the results expected delivered? Can it be implemented in its original state or does it needs some work and adjustments?
Revising: If corrections are necessary then make appropriate adjustments and process improvements before attempting to implement
Taking Action: Attempt to implement your revised idea/suggestion again. Repeat if necessary
