We all have the ability to choose our level of happiness every single day

I am going to start by saying that life is a very awesome and unpredictable thing. It’s not going to be only filled with happy and exciting moments, there will be plenty of times when we will be tested by life, where things do not go as planned or turn out as we had expected. There will be times when we would face sad moments throughout our life that we would be expected to deal with and overcome. Why am I telling you all this when the topic of this article is happiness? Because, I fell that it is important to understand that life is filled with both positive and negative moments, but what we choose to make out of each situation is up to us. Even in very sad situations we can find some happiness, especially when we are going through some tough times. I know you are probably thinking, what is he talking about? How could one find happiness when we are faced with difficulty and challenges in life? How can one be happy when he or she is struggling on a personal or professional front? I know that it may appear or sound crazy, but it is possible to find happiness when life gives us lemons.

Each day we make a choice to be happy with where we are, with whom we are, and with what we have, or to be unhappy and displeased telling ourselves how bad or challenging our life is. This is the choice that we all make every day

Have you ever moved or know someone who moved across states or internationally, not because you or someone you know always wanted to travel and live in a particular state in U.S. or country, but because that is something that needed to be done due to various different reasons? So, when such move takes place, going where everything and everyone is new and unfamiliar, where you do not know what to expect or even what to do next, your mind could go wandering in many different directions. Some may begin to panic, some would be afraid of the unknown and unfamiliar, some would hate the change, and there are some who would be genuinely happy despite the chaos around them. But how? How can someone be possibly happy when they find themselves in situations or places where they’ve never been or experienced? How can someone be happy when they are faced with unexpected and often difficult moments in life? Remember when I said that happiness is a choice that we all make every day? That’s exactly how it is possible to find happiness wherever you may be and at any point in time. You can choose to be happy and appreciate everything and everyone you are surrounded by in your life, or you can choose to be in what already may be a very difficult situation.

Happiness begins in your mind

So, when faced with unexpected or challenging situation, you must begin by asking yourself how you feel about the situation that you are in, and if this situation be solved now or in the future, or can you adjust by changing your mindset and how you feel about each situation or problem you are facing. For example, moving into a smaller house or an apartment, having less bedrooms or bathrooms, living in the less desirable part of town, etc. The real question is – can you make the best out of the situation that you are in and be happy? Absolutely, if you make a choice to be happy. Some people would choose to complain and hate the situation they are in because their house is located too far from their favorite restaurant, grocery or department store, even though they have a nice warm and beautiful home, they have food t eat and clothes to wear. And then, there are families that must move back and live with their parents because they are unable to afford the house or apartment on their own at the present moment, whether it is because of job loss or another unexpected life event that took place in their lives. Therefore, they must live in small quarters sharing space with other family members, and they had to downgrade to one vehicle or no vehicle because they could no longer afford their car payments. However, instead of telling themselves and everyone around them how difficult their life is, they choose to be happy and appreciate what they do have while working through life’s challenges together one at a time.

Positive mindset leads to positive results, even if those results are not immediate
