Are you prepared for the life that's ahead of you?

Picture
You are holding keys to your own future. When opportunity comes knocking on your door and you choose to ignore, it’s nobodies fault but yours. Why? Because you were not prepared for it and not ready to receive it or to pursuit it. I know it probably sounds harsh, but that’s reality.

This is especially important to remember that keys to your future are in your own hands when you choose to ignore what your parents trying to teach early in life. When you are young and unexperienced, the entire world is like an opened book that has been read yet. Therefore, you have an awesome opportunity to write your own story. Story where you don’t necessarily have to go through some painful difficulties of facing challenges or roadblocks of life that perhaps your parents already went through, learned from them and now they are trying to teach you so that you don’t have to waste your time on going through similar difficult experiences, and instead focus your time and energy on things that help you to become successful in your life.

Now, don’t get me wrong, there will still be challenges and difficulties in your own life that you would need to overcome and learn from, however, if you pay attention to what your parents are teaching you, and reminding you about every single day, your path to success, however you are envisioning it, can be that much quicker.

So, what is it that we can all do when we are young to be more prepared for the real life that is ahead of us?

Read. Read every day, no matter the number of pages you read, but reading every day will help you to keep your mind focused on learning something new daily, whether you are reading something for school or for your own pleasure, fiction or non-fiction, business or comedy, reading is reading and the more you do it the better. Keep feeding you brain with new information and keep expanding your horizons.

Create. Limit the time you spent in front of tv, whether you are playing a game or watching a movie, and instead, create something new. This could be a simple as a new drawing, building something fun using materials you and find in your home, or using one of many fun projects you may purchase in stores like Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

Write. Just like reading it good to get into a habit of writing on the regular basis, daily would be best. What do write? It’s easy. Get a copy of your own daily journal and begin capturing your own thoughts, opinions, and dreams on paper every day. We often choose to keep everything hidden inside of us allowing our worries, concerns, and thoughts to accumulate. But what it does it all these thoughts do not allow us to focus on anything else, because, we continuously are thinking about everything that store in our heard day after day. Why not release those thoughts on paper, freeing your mind of worries and concerns, and instead download your mind with information that can help you grow personally and professionally. Plus, if you ever want to revisit your thoughts and ideas at a later time, they will be there in your journal waiting for you.

Seek new knowledge and opportunities to grow yourself every day. Never be satisfied with what you know or have achieved, because, there’s always an opportunity to add to what you already know and add, enhance or improve that what you have already achieved. If you have not achieved much as of yet, then look for opportunities to change where you are, focusing on where you would like to be or where you see yourself go in the near future. Again, you are the one who is holding key to your own future, and the sooner you realize that the sooner you can begin building the future of your dreams.

It is also very important to remember, that everything mentioned above it does not only apply to school age individuals, but it applies to everyone at any stage of our life. It’s never too late to begin reading, writing, creating something new, and seeking new knowledge and opportunities helping you grow personally and professionally.

I hope you enjoyed reading this module as much as I enjoyed writing it, and hope that you found it to be very useful for you or someone else that you may know. Please feel free to share this post if you know someone who may benefit from reading it same way you did
