Good communicators sound professional and display their professionalism through both verbal and written communication. Written communication could be in the form of very well written, professionally looking email, chat, physical letter, blog and website. Your followers, business partners, colleagues, do pay close attention to your communication skills. Therefore, it is important that you display your strong communication skills regardless whether they are written or verbal. You may be a very good public speaker, but if you have an opportunity to improve your written communication skills than you focus on doing so, and invest your time learning and practicing those skills until you reach a level near perfection.

Be the subject matter expert in whichever topic or subject you may be presenting on or discussing. It is very easy to tell if presenter did their research and studied the subject of their presentation. They are confident, full of energy, engaging and not afraid of any questions what my come their way. Be the leader who is a subject matter expert and someone whom others would want to follow and trust.

The skill of effective communication can be learned though daily practice. It will not happen over night, however, with continuous practice of presenting in front of others, asking for feedback, be open to receive feedback and implementing it, you can get there.

Three takeaways from this module are:
  1. Every leader should have great verbal and written communication skills in order to successfully convey the message to their audience
  2. Communication skills can be learned and perfected with daily practice and personal dedication to success and development
  3. Be patient and work hard daily on improving your communication skills.
